Soccer
The sport of soccer is the most popular sport in the world and has people have been playing it for hundreds of years. According to a recent study by Conmebol (South American Soccer Federation), 2.65 billion people play or have played soccer worldwide (CONMEBOL). This is due to how easy it is to play, you need two feet and a ball and just those two things can bring joy and happiness to anyone who plays. I've been playing soccer since I was a little boy and I will never get fed up of it. That's what soccer does to you, once you start playing you immediately fall in love with the game and you develop a passion for it. Every kid who plays soccer has a dream of playing professionally and I was lucky enough to be able to be a part of the professional experience as I have two uncles who played professionally and I also work for a professional team, the Montreal Impact.
Soccer is played with two teams of 11 players playing against each other, 10 outfield players and 1 goalie. It is usually split up in three parts: the defenders, the midfielders, and the forwards. Each position plays a crucial role in the game and no one position is more important than the other. Defenders have the job of making sure the other team doesnt score, midfielders have the job of creating opportunities for the team, and forwards have the job of scoring. A very tactical game that involves everyone working together in order to succeed
