Hockey
The sport of hockey has been around for a long time. Where I'm from, the beautiful city of Montreal, hockey is a religion and everyone follows our professional hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens.
Hockey is played between two teams of 5 players and a goalie each on the ice, played with a circular puck. Hockey involves aggressive and fast paced action which makes it extremely exciting to watch. Hockey has been around since the late 1800's and is incredibly popular in Canada, labeled as "Canada's Game". The first ice hockey game ever played was in 1875 at Victoria Skating park, in Montreal (Wikipedia), which is why Montreal has a love for hockey, it is apart of our history! The game was played by two nine member teams with a wooden puck. As you can see, the game has much evolved since then as it became increasingly popular in North America.
In today's age, hockey is on of the biggest sports in the world and is represented with the multi-billion dollar league that is the NHL. The NHL (National Hockey League) is a hockey league with professional teams from all over Canada and USA who compete against each other for the ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup. These players become role models for kid's who love the sport as these aspire to be professionals like them. It is a sport I love to play often and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys some good fun.
